About me
I was born and raised in San Diego, CA. I am the youngest of three children. My mom and dad still reside in San Diego. I moved to Santa Cruz, in January 1994 to attend the University of California Santa Cruz, UCSC and I have never left. I have been teaching in the Soquel Elementary School District since 1998. In 2003, I received my master’s degree in Education from San Jose State University. 2007-2009 I was out of the classroom, and working as a full time mentor in the Santa Cruz New Teacher Project. This honor not only allowed me the opportunity to support new teachers to this profession, but also inspired me in trying some new strategies for teaching. In 2009, I gave birth to a baby girl and in May 2012 my second daughter was born. I love teaching eighth grade, and I look forward to building a relationship with each student and their family. Feel free to email me regarding any questions or concerns.
